The Fab Faux – The Paramount 6.22.24

It took almost half of my life to finally appreciate The Beatles! But to be honest, I think my dislike for The Beatles was because my Aunt LOOOVED them to the point of annoying! LOL! Her world revolved around them!  I never understood the fascination.  I watched in wonderment how young women were screaming with tears running down their cheeks to be in the mere presence of The Beatle when they appeared on the Ed Sullivan show or the madness at Shea Stadium!  I finally warmed up their music but I will admit, their “experimental” over-dubs i.e. “number 9, number 9, number 9” still drives me nuts!

On the other side of the token, I absolutely loved Paul Shaffer and The World’s Most Dangerous Band with Sid McGinnis on Guitar, Anton Figg on Drums and Will Lee on Bass!  Paul has always been a bit quirky to me but I always felt the band was so talented, especially Will Lee.  Which is why I had to see his band The Fab Faux, a Beatles Tribute band.

Over the past 15 years or so, Ive really appreciated the music of The Beatles.  There was a band that we hosted at The Bears Den who did a great tribute to The Beatles complete with costume changes that match each Beatle era, including Sgt Peppers. From there I saw Rain, 1964, Wondrous Stories and Strawberry Fields, fronted by Tony Garofalo who hosts a weekend brunch at CityWineryNYC every Sunday!

Although The Fab Faux dont do the costume changes, their musicianship speaks for itself! With the talents of Jimmy Vivino on Guitar, Jack Petruzzelli on Keys and Guitar, Frank Agnello on Guitar, Rich Pagano on Drums and of course Will Lee on Bass their arrangements take the term “tribute band” to another level.

If you ever get the opportunity to see them play live, I highly encourage you to do so!  Here are a few highlights when they performed at The Paramount in Huntington, NY
