Vinnie Moore – The Iridium 3.10.24

Ive been a fan of Vinnie Moore for nearly 40 years!! It all started learning how to play Daydream from his first album, Minds Eye back in the mid 80’s! Which of course was one of the highlights for me when he intro’d that song.

But its actually been a couple years since I stepped foot into the Iridium doors. The last show I saw there was the Alex Skolnick Trio when we were slowly stepping out of the pandemic.  I was one of 15 invited guests from the then owner/manager, Ron Sturm.  And although the Iridium is now under new management, theyre still bringing class A music to the stage that Les (Paul) Built.

A few highlights aside from Daydream, were The Maze, In Control, Paid My Dues from his Double Exposure release sung by Shawn Christie and my favorite track of his, Morning Star.  John DeServio of Black Label Society provided bass and lead vocals for ZZ Top’s Cheap Sunglasses while Bob Pantella of Monster Magnet sat behind the kit.

I will admit, Vinnie’s performance made this concert photographer put down the camera and finally sit and enjoy a show for a change!  Albeit, after I snapped a few pics for the article!  Here are but a couple highlights.
