From Constraints to Creativity: Podcasting Journey

If life has taught me anything, it’s that waiting for the perfect moment rarely works—someone else will usually seize the opportunity first. That doesn’t mean I can’t still pursue what I’m passionate about; it simply means that others share similar ambitions and ideas. The real question then becomes: Can I do it better?

Of course, I know it won’t always be easy.

I’m referring, of course, to my goal of taking my podcast to the next level. I’ll admit, there are a few challenges holding me back at the moment. However, I truly believe my podcast has tremendous potential. Several guests have already offered or agreed to share their time, and there are many more I’ve yet to reach out to—individuals who I’m confident would be eager to contribute their experiences and insights.

You may be wondering, “What’s stopping you?”
Unfortunately, the answer is simple — I currently don’t have the means to make it happen. Location, time, and financial constraints all play significant roles in limiting my progress, with financial challenges being the greatest hurdle.

I would love to produce my podcast full-time, but let’s break down what that actually involves. I’m not particularly fond of using Zoom, Google Meet, or other webcam-based platforms; I much prefer in-person, one-on-one conversations. The challenge with that approach is having access to a dedicated studio — whether portable or stationary — where I can host and record interviews.

Of course, for national guests, virtual options like Zoom or Google Meet would be the practical route, and I’ll address that when the time comes. Travel to and from interviews is naturally part of the process, but the real commitment comes afterward — editing alone can easily take an entire day or more. Coordinating and scheduling guests also requires planning, often weeks in advance, not to mention having backup plans for when life inevitably throws a curveball.

I already have some essential equipment—cameras, tripods, a small light kit, a backdrop, and a laptop—to make it all possible. However, I’d love to eventually invest in more professional gear, including high-quality microphones, custom banners, and a dedicated home studio. And of course, let’s not forget the SWAG I’d love to offer guests as a token of appreciation for their time!
