Posted by I had the distinct pleasure of meeting up with my friends Robin and Dave of Dave Black Rocks Promotions for lunch. Ive been wanting to meet up with Dave for a few months and had previously discussed a YouTube Channel to provide interviews for local artists and bands as another means of “getting the word out” of their musical presence. Although that idea hasn’t yet come to fruition, its not out of the question.
We met at River Walk Bar & Grille in Riverhead on Peconic Ave, and were greeted by our hosts, John & Kristina Molesi, the husband and wife team who’ve own the place for 5 years. As we sat and chatted with John, I soon discovered that John and Kristina are going to be taking their establishment in a new direction and start hosting live bands! It actually surprised me that they have yet to do so, my first impressions were that it would be a great place for live music, especially with the summer right around the corner and the view of the River in the background! Not only that, as they pointed out, the stage would be located in the corner of the covered terrace, providing shade yet open for a nice breeze!
Enter, Zeppland! A true Led Zeppelin Tribute Band, who will have the honor of being River Walk’s Bar & Grille’s very first Live band! Zeppland will be performing both acoustic & electric favorites starting at 3pm on May 5th! And to top it off, there is no cover for this magical event!
I would be remiss if I didnt mention their full menu of delicious delectables and full line of adult beverages and soft drinks. Robin immersed herself with a larger than expected River Walk Salad complete with almonds, cranberries and pecans, which looked quite impressive, Dave dove into the boneless chicken wings which were more than he could handle with a nice glass of red wine to complement his meal, while I had the Cowboy Cheeseburger (sans tomato) with Fries paired with a Montauk Brewery Wave Chaser IPA.
If you havent yet had the opportunity to give them a visit, River Walk Bar & Grille will be more than happy to accommodate your visit! Aside from the great menu and growing list of live acts, their full size bar, 6 large screen tvs with your favorite sporting event or two being displayed, their hospitality will aim to please!
