Posted by The pandemic is hopefully nearing the end of its run! Unfortunately we’re not quite in the clear just yet and therefore the meet & greet for Grand Funk Rail Road was cancelled. It would have been great to stop in and say hello to the guys but I was fortunate enough to shoot the first three songs, from my seat. Those were the rules set before me, only happy to oblige.
The show opened with Rock & Roll Soul followed by Footstompin’ Music and Shinin’ On. After that is when the camera went into the bag and I was able to enjoy the show. And with Loco Motion to keep the show flowing, what better time to be distraction free, especially when everyone was on their feet?
Like most casino shows, Grand Funk played for 75 minutes, finishing their night with Im Your Caption/Coming home and We’re An American Band which served as their encore without leaving the stage.
Grand Funk is one of those bands who effortlessly put on a great show and always a pleasure to see live. With Don Brewer on drums and vocals, Mel Schacher on bass, Tim Cashion on keys, Bruce Kulick on lead guitar and Max Carl providing lead vocals and rhythm guitar, the band coulnt be more tight, and the chemistry is evident!
