Welcome to Long Island Sounds & Beyond

Thank you for visiting Long Island Sounds & Beyond!

This photoblog was created to showcase the incredible musicians and live performances that grace Long Island and beyond. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing everyone from outstanding tribute acts such as Sticky Sweet (Def Leppard), Shoot 2 Thrill (AC/DC), Ozzmosis (Ozzy Osbourne), and Freebird (Lynyrd Skynyrd), to internationally renowned artists including Slash, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Journey, David Gilmour and most recently, Santana.

My goal extends beyond simply capturing great photographs. I enjoy sharing the experience behind each performance—the atmosphere, energy, musicianship, production, and those memorable moments that make live music so special. That’s why I prefer to think of myself as an “experiencer” rather than a reviewer, influencer, or critic. My observations are simply my personal perspective of what I witnessed on that particular evening.

My background gives me a unique appreciation for live production. As a former Entertainment Manager responsible for multiple performing arts venues ranging from intimate 476-seat theaters to 2,200-performing art centers, I’ve worked extensively with professional audio systems, lighting design, staging, rigging, and every major component of concert production. Because of that experience, when I comment on lighting, front-of-house (FOH) sound, or overall production quality, those observations come from years spent producing and managing live entertainment—not from a desire to criticize.

Every venue, production team, artist, and audience contributes to a unique concert experience. My intention is never to diminish anyone’s work or personal taste, but simply to share how I experienced each performance through both my camera lens and my years in the entertainment industry.
